Introduction: Although "American Idiot" is considered by many to be Green Day's magnum opus, I don't think anything can beat the pure, youthful energy of "Dookie".

1. Burnout
What a great intro track. Fast, full of energy, and good lyrics about the feeling of growing old and losing energy, but not growing up.
8/10

2. Having a Blast
The perfect breakup song. Good track, but forgettable for the most part.
6.9/10

3. Chump
A lot like Having a Blast, but the vocals and harmonies seem stronger.
7.5/10

4. Longview
This song has one of the most memorable bass lines you will ever hear. The lyrics are funny, the vocals are strong. One of the best Green Day songs EVER.
9.3/10

5. Welcome to Paradise
Originally recorded on the album "Kerplunk!", they held nothing back on this one. Blazing guitar, blazing bass, and strong drums. Fantastic track.
9/10

6. Pulling Teeth
Just because it's slower than anything else on the album, does not mean it's a weak track. The vocals on this song are top notch, and the lyrics are great.
7.8/10

7. Basket Case
This song is perfection. You can't beat this song, this song is one of the best songs ever made.
10/10

8. She
This song is one of my favorites, because Green Day does everything right. They build energy in the song, but never lose themselves in it.
8.5/10

9. Sassafras Roots
Overall a pretty forgettable track.
5/10

10. When I Come Around
This track is fantastic. It isn't as good as Basket Case, but it's up there. Words can't even describe it.
9.5/10

11. Coming Clean
A track about Billie Joe coming out as a bisexual to his parents, who just didn't understand.
7.5/10

12. Emenius Sleepus
A track about having a falling out with a friend. Pretty forgettable.
4/10

13. In the End
Vocals, vocals, vocals. This song is great because of the vocals.
7/10

14. F.O.D.
Is acoustic for the first minute and a half, and the last minute is a lot of energy. Honestly it would have been better if they had just kept it acoustic the entire way through.
6/10

15. All By Myself
A song written and performed by Tre, its fucking hilarious.
8/10

Overall the first half is stronger than the second half, but it's still a great album, and my favorite by Green Day.

American Idiot is honestly the only Green Day album I can listen to fully without skipping tracks.

I still hate Holiday and Boulevard because of how overplayed they were. They just leave a bitter taste in my mouth now, even though I like them.

Meh, I don't care if something is overplayed. I never listen to the radio so I never know whether something gets played or not xD
