KONY 2012

No, this is not another, "OMG GUISE! KONY ISH ZO BADSH!"
This is a call.
This is me as a citizen of the world's biggest babysitter making a stand.
I am an American through and through. Nothing else I'd rather be. But when I see the rest of the world seemingly not giving a fuck about injustice somewhere that isn't their direct benefit. So why does it have to be our responsibility to handle everything? Is it because we have the largest GDP, the largest Navy and Air Force, and the most technologically advanced Army? No. It's because somewhere along the line of the history of the USA, someone made the decision that we wouldn't use this power we have accumulated to bully smaller countries. I mean, come on, if the United States so decided, we could take over the whole fucking world. BUT, we aren't like the 3rd Reich, or the Bolsheviks of the USSR. The United States is different. While not everything that is done in this I agree with, I do believe in the choices we have made to protect the smaller people in the world. I honestly don't care what you think of me, or of my country, but it's time for the world to do something. Invisible Children is not the best charity. While they do bring in a lot of money for countries such as Uganda, they still have to pay their employee's. As a member of the IC club at Mater Dei, I've seen their last 5 projects. Most of them have failed, but our generation can truly do something great to put our mark on history. Unlike our parents, we have this rather fast thing called the internet. The Kony 2012 video had roughly 30,000,000 views last time i checked. Why then, has no one in any kind of power done anything? Because the internet, and the viral spread of videos doesn't hold the same kind of cache with the generations that preceded us. I know that I am just a small, insignificant, 17 year old high school senior, but if we all get something small done for these smaller countries, then we are greater than those old farts who tell us our ideas and solutions for the world are nothing. If we stand as one, we can make a lasting impact on this ball of rock we call Planet Earth.
For now, I will make aware all that listen to my bands blend of metal and punk. If just one person a day can hear our songs and make a difference in some part of someone's life, then my job in this world. To spread awareness to people through the universal medium of music. While some people will still hate on it, because of the genre, many, I hope, will see that I'm just trying to do what I can with the talents i was blessed with. Once released, our first song will be posted on my YouTube channel, and I really want you guys to listen to it, and then post it on the Facebook wall of just one friend, and leave the message to listen, and post it to another friend. This will show just how small this world really is. Eventually, it will make its way back to you. And then that's when we know that we have made a real difference in this world. Thank you for taking some time out of your day to read my point of view, and i hope you all choose to do something to make a difference in this world.

I'm an ass anyway that was very moving Link and I 100% agree with the part where America could take over the entire world if it wanted to but it doesn't anyway I really don't know what is that we can do to even help this case? Tweet Joesph Kony to death? What would spreading the word do? And Dalton the US holds a pretty big ass title in the world, compared to other countries where A LOT of shit is going on big countries need to do something and step in besides what does the US really need right now? Not like it has mass murders everyday or children being abducted daily...

I'm sorry to say this, but I really hate how people are thinking that child soldiers and sex slaves, ect. are anything new.. I mean, that what people are acting like. Yeah, I understand that its not right and something needs to be done, but their are other people out there doing the same thing. And would anyone like to tell me how this even came about? This dude pretty much came up out of the blue for me and everyone else I know says the same.
Also, I highly doubt the US could take over the world if it wanted to. Russia is like "Try to take me bitch, you'll lose that fight any day."
